Quordle: solve four Wordles at once

Quordle is Wordle times four. Four hidden five-letter words sit in a two-by-two grid, and every guess you type is played on all four boards at once. Find every word within nine guesses to win. Today’s daily Quordle is the same set of four words for every player, and a new one arrives at midnight.

Finished today’s puzzle? Keep going with Quordle Unlimited and play as many rounds as you like, or try two boards at a time on Dordle.

How to play

Solve four hidden five-letter words at the same time. You get nine guesses, and every word you type is played on all four boards at once.

The basics

  1. 1 Type any five-letter word and press Enter. The same guess goes into all four boards.
  2. 2 Each board colours its tiles against its own hidden word, so one guess can give you four different sets of clues.
  3. 3 When you solve a board it locks, and your next guesses only count for the boards still open.
  4. 4 Solve all four within nine guesses to win. In Daily mode everyone gets the same four words. In Unlimited, a new set is ready as soon as you finish.

Reading the colours

Green: right letter, right spot The letter is in the word and in exactly this position.
Yellow: right letter, wrong spot The letter is in the word, but somewhere else.
Grey: not in the word The letter does not appear anywhere in that board’s word.

Four boards, one keyboard

Every key is split into four corners, one per board: top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right. Each corner shows what that letter did on its board. Once a board is solved, its corner stops updating.

A is in the right spot on the first board, in the wrong spot on the third, and not in the second or fourth word at all.
E is in the second and fourth words in the right spot, in the first word but elsewhere, and not in the third word.
R is in none of the four words, so the whole key turns grey.

A round, step by step

The hidden words are SLATE, POINT, FLOUR and CRANE, shown top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right.

CRANE solves the fourth board straight away. On the first, A and E are green; on the second, N is green; on the third, R is yellow.
SLATE solves the first board. T is yellow on the second and L is green on the third.
POINT solves the second board. On the third, O is yellow.
FLOUR solves the third board. All four words in four guesses.

Tips

  • Open with two or three words full of common letters, like CRANE, SLOTH and BUILD. Together they test most of the alphabet across all four boards.
  • Do not chase one board too early. Spend the first guesses gathering letters, then solve the boards one by one.
  • Count your remaining guesses against the boards still open. With four guesses left and two boards open you cannot afford a wasted word.
  • Check all four corners of each key before you type. A letter that is grey on one board can still be right on another.
